There is some old movie about the English Civil War (Richard Harris as Cromwell). In the movie, Cromwell accuses a member of parliament of using his government position as a tool to enrich himself.
The man seems genuinely shocked — “Of course! Why else would I be in the government???”
Someone needs to post Cromwell’s speech to Parliment; it is very appropriate for what is happening now.
