I thought that the presenters from yesterday made the Democrat House Managers look like second graders.

Any rational person would listen to them and vote against impeachment.

But, do the Democrat Senators sit as rational, impartial jurors, or do they sit as Democrat politicians who believe that the Democrat Party enriches them, and so they must support the Democrat Party ahead of the citizens of The United States?

We shall see.

I don’t know if you can.

They just shouldn’t try to portray this as being like a regular court proceeding.

Which is why what Alan and others had to say went in one ear and the out the other. These Dems have no clue what the rule of law is.

The rule of law is to Democrats what holy water is to vampires.

Am I missing media reviews of yesterday’s impeachment trial?

My pleasure. I figure Saturday, if it goes that long, would start at 10:00 a.m.

If the senate debates witnesses (again), and decides to depose, then the trial will be suspended for as long as it takes to get that job done. Could be a couple weeks, as it was in the Clinton impeachment trial, could be a few months as executive immunity and privilege are litigated.

Rhetorical question, I presume.

They have all decided how they are going to vote, and are applying their persuasion to the GOP. there is no dialoge going in the oppisite direction, GOP politician trying to dissuade a DEM politician from voting to remove.

"If witnesses are allowed, all witnesses must be allowed"

Actually, if witnesses are allowed, the ONLY ones who can be allowed are those that have already testified to the House. The Constitution gives the power of impeachment solely to the House. The evidence put forth by the House is then presented to the Senate for final judgement. If new evidence comes along, it is STILL the job of the House to gather and determine if it should be put forth before the Senate in the form of an Article of Impeachment. Constitutionally, the Senate is banned from the new evidence gathering role. This means that if the House wants to call Bolton as a witness, they can ONLY do so as a function of the HOUSE. If they call him to testify and then determine that it warrants an Article of Impeachment, then they must go through the process given to them by the Constitution. They cannot pass this function along to the Senate.

This means that "new" witnesses are unconstitutional if allowed by the Senate. They can't do it.

I don’t have those stats.

I think that this is a trial of the Democrat Party, too.

Is the Democrat Party a political party where people come together to find and help elect people to political office, or is it a shadow government trying to conduct foreign policy and looting the public treasuries?

Just so. But, they are in control of many a court, and they all "know" what the law is as far as they are concerned.

By way of example, they will tell you that no trial occurs without witnesses, that Trump must be removed because the call record shows an impeachable offense on its face, that accusations of Biden corruption have been debunked, that the constitution enshrines a right to abortion and homo marriage, and the list goes on.

They will tell you this is rule of law, and then will apply a totally different standard depending on the circumstances.

-- Am I missing media reviews of yesterday's impeachment trial? --

The media reviews are basically that Team Trump did okay, but did not dispute any of the core allegations in the articles. Also, the Trump team argument proves that witnesses are needed.

"Trump's Team Ignores Facts as Senators Open Ears"
"Did Trump undercut his ability to exert executive privilege over John Bolton with a tweet?"
"Six GOP Senators who hold the cards in Trump's Senate impeachment trial"

The dems use books to launder money. Bolton already has his pay off and never has to sell one book.

You argument boils down to two things. First that it is unconsitutional for the senate call a new witness, and second, that the senate cannot do an unconstitutional thing.

The second point is demonstrably false. The Senate does all sorts of unconstitutional things on a regular, almost daily basis. It's the new normal.

There is no remedy to prevent the senate from sending subpooeanas to new witnesses. Naturally, a new witness can sue to quash, but courts aren't a bastion of constitutionality either.

President Trump never ceases to take the fight to the libs and call them by name. It would be funny if Chris Wallace’s ratings tanked because of this.

I left FoxNews a few years ago, and only watch Fox Business if I’m watching any news on TV.

I tend to think of it as more analogous to an appeals court. No witnesses or new evidence, the only issue is whether the lower court—in this case, the House—had sufficient evidence to impeach.
