Good move for Collins. He barely got re-elected in 2018 in a district that is changing demographically.

Doug Collins’ seat in NE Georgia is absolutely Republican safe. He or another decent conservative simply could not lose here. (Collins is my rep).

Not sure a firebrand like Mr. Collins could win statewide.

Loeffler ain’t my fave but she can carry enough soccer moms in blue areas to win the state overall.

Abrams is not a likeable person but Kemp ran some really awkward and poorly produced ads during the campaign that turned people off. Abrams is not as much of a Senate threat in a Presidential election year with millions of fired up Trump voters in Ga.

I think you are remembering Woodall in Gwinnett county. He barely won his seat.

Collins is safe here.

The fact that Doug Collins is going to challenge Kelly Loefler in the GA primary is only news outside of GA. Nobody knows this chick. She owns a womens BB team and is cushy with planned parenthood. Most likely she will be similar to David Perdue our other senator who is a moderate posing as a conservative.

...the treachery of Brian Kemp

What “treachery” of Brian Kemp? For exercising his Constitutional duty as governor to appoint the person he believes is best suited to fill and then retain one of Georgia’s United States Senate seats?

Not only must Senator Loeffler has to stand for election this November to complete remainder of Johnny Isakson’s term, but she must quickly stand for re-election in 2022 for the next full 6-year term - TWO expensive general elections in only two years. Doug Collins can’t raise that kind of money against the New York and Hollywood money that will flood two races against him. But like Trump, Kelly Loeffler could SELF-FUND both campaigns if needed. She and her husband own the New York Stock Exchange and the International Petroleum Exchange.

Loeffler is fiscally and socially Conservative, Pro-Life, Pro-2A, and vocally Pro-Trump. Yesterday, she tweeted “After 2 weeks, it’s clear that Democrats have no case for impeachment. Sadly, my colleague @SenatorRomney wants to appease the left by calling witnesses who will slander the @realDonaldTrumo during their 15 minutes of fame. The circus is over. It’s time to move on!”

Brian Kemp might be the most Conservative governor in America. As Georgia’s secretary of state he got to know all of its 159 counties, and won the governorship in 2018 by defeating the Deal-Cagle-Ralston machine that had stifled Conservative initiatives and kissed Hollywood’s behind. In his first year, Governor Kemp proudly signed the anti-abortion “Heartbeat Bill” and has pledged to sign the Religious Freedom Restoration Act - that Gov. Deal vetoed - when it reaches his desk.

For the record, I love Doug Collins and admire President Trump’s loyalty to him for his unwavering defense of the presidency. But Brian Kemp is the governor, and he knows the Georgia electorate far better that the president does. I believe Collins is best suited right where he is - in the House of Representatives, but I don’t believe Collins will play as well with many female voters in a state-wide race against a heavily funded minority woman. By contrast, Kelly Loeffler is every bit as Conservative and a formidable state-wide candidate who will crush her Democrat opponents.

Governor Kemp has earned my trust to exercise his authority as he believes is best, and every new day shows the brilliance and wisdom of his appointment of Senator Loeffler. She scare the Democrats to death - which is why the media keeps stirring the pot in hopes that Doug Collins will run against her.

Virtually all of the things that were said about Donald Trump in 2015 and 2016 are now being said about Kelly Loeffler today. Senator Loeffler is a solid choice.

“”Much as I like Collins, I think someone with his personality is far better suited for the House or a governor’s office than for a body of feckless fools like the U.S. Senate.””

I’m with you. I too like and admire him but we don’t need to lose anymore Republicans in the House - there are already too many retiring/resigning whatever. Here in GA Abrams wouldn’t leave her big nose out of the race and the less we see of her (if possible), the better off we’ll all be!

She’s not a politician - she’s a business woman and we don’t see a heck of a lot of that in either the House or Senate and that’s a plus. She’s not an ATTORNEY! It would be tough to choose between her and Collins as I’m crazy about him but I think we need to keep him in the House. Whatever happens Abrams needs to stay out of it!

What? Please put aside what you’ve been told and check the facts. Kelly Loeffler’s hobby is her minority ownership in Atlanta’s WNBA team. The WNBA league itself is cushy with Planned Parenthood and Susan G. Komen, not the Atlanta franchise or Kelly Loeffler. Loeffler is openly and vocally Pro-Life.

You are absolutely correct, and if Kemp is such a scumbag I would ask why is she so important to be put in that position, once again I offer its not for our benefit.

The decision by the four-term lawmaker could complicate the GOP’s chances of holding onto the seat as Republicans battle to retain their Senate majority in this November’s elections.

Why does this complicate anything?

Because an acrimonious primary helps nobody but the Democrats.
