No, actually, I skipped the DOS generation. Was one of the last VAX/VMS programmers in my neighborhood. Jumped straight from VAX/VMS to Windows. Never had any interest whatsoever in learning about P/Cs or DOS.

Never knew that about you Jim. I cut my teeth in the tech world as a service tech for DEC, after learning all about PDP 8/e and PDP 11 in college. Jumped over to the programming side with DIBOL (their version of COBOL), followed by "MUMPS" and "MUMPS-11", then switching over to PR1ME computers in Fortran and a proprietary database. Those were the days!!

Yup. I was on PDP 11 before VAX. And BTI (Basic Timesharing, Inc - an HP spinoff) before that. And IBM System/3 before that. IBM 360/20 before that. Learned coding on a Univac 1100.

Most likely it was an DDoS attack though.
