I’m reminded of Billy Joel’s song “Its Only a Matter of Trust” and the line “When you’ve heard lie upon lie, its only a question of why.” I think we know why they lie and that truth from the “news” media is about as prevalent as hens’ teeth.
He achieved what he set out to do. He dropped the lie, then said it was a joke, with the caveat, that he thinks republicans were “obviously” thinking this anyway.
