Woot! “Get off my lawn!”

I do question calling a Biden though. What needs to be established vis-a-vis Biden is that suspicion of corruption was righteous. Who in the DOJ had suspicion of Biden/Burisma shenanigans? Or use the recent (breaking last night) revealed e-mails that Obama’s state department thought the Biden/Burisma arrangement looked bad, and should not exist.

The public is getting three days of the same crap it has been getting from the press for half a year. Same accusations, ove and over. The press has been diligent in not exposing any defense to the accusation. It’ll be intersting to see how that diligence persists when the defense team presents its side of the case.

Today show news this morning was gloating over a photo of Graham shaking the hand of Schiff and smiling and news person was saying that the conversation was “Graham said to Schiff, well done Sir”. I kid you not.

I think polls over this weekend will show that virtually no one who voted for Trump in 2016....has changed their mind since the Senate hearing started, and that fact will worry the Democratic strategist. All this effort to reach this point, and virtually nothing to show for it?

Another to consider is that political campaigns move swiftly, and an issue in January, even as important as impeachment, will be all but forgotten by Labor Day. If anything, it takes these issues off the table as old news. Trump can rightfully claim that the Democrats tried everything possible to smear him, and came up empty every time.

I wonder how much Bolton’s statement was a ploy to draw this out long enough for total frustration and contempt to set in - with the public and GOPe senators. A way to give an excuse for GOPe senators to engage in a predetermined way. Unannounced to them of course. Kind of like herding cats.

“There are 45, with about five to eight wanting to hear a little more,” Paul told the Post

These 5-8 are extending this abuse of power and should be ashamed. This circus must be ended.

Why isn't it 53?!
Only, IMHO, because there are some R senators who are standing for reelection this year in states Trump lost.

It’s not entirely clear why there are states which vote for Hillary and which voted for a Republican senator - but that’s the case and we need an absolute minimum of 50 R senators next year, so . . .

The Senate urgently needs a rule for the future, requiring at least 55, perhaps even 60 (i.e., cloture) to even take up an impeachment from the House which will require 67 votes to convict in the Senate.

The Senate is suppose to evaluate and judge the impeachment case made by - and voted on - by the House. Any new evidence garnered through additional witnesses in the Senate should trigger another impeachment vote in the House.

Take Bolton. He could give Senate testimony that completely exonerates the President ... or just the opposite - totally crushes the President. It seems both represent a different set of Articles of Impeachment, which is the sole power of the House.

It’s all a gigantic cluster.

My 2 cents.

I’m still waiting to see if Graham will hold to his promise to conduct hearings on the Biden corruption issue...

The Rats say they need to call more witnesses to gather evidence. Evidence is what you are supposed to have BEFORE you charge a person and take them to trial. If this were a normal trial, the defendant’s attorney would move that the case be dismissed for lack of evidence and the judge would grant the dismissal.

I don’t think he ever intended to give statements. And he’d be under executive privilege anyway as far as we know. Personally I think it was a calculated ploy accounting for the interaction of GOPe senators and Rat managers and setting a limiting context for them to engage.
People talk about 3D chess, this would be one way of tracking that.
Who knows really. Might just be more sausage being made but the Trump team is pretty darn smart so...

In the end they will vote “no” on witnesses and move straight to a vote to acquit. This Schiff show will end and we will take back the House in Nov.

The Kentucky senator told the Washington Post on day two of the Senate impeachment trial that 45 Republicans are ready to dismiss the charges against Trump.

______________

When Schiff said the following sh*t yesterday.................BIGTIME ENEMIES were made.

Schiff accused Trump of attempting to “use the powers of the presidency to cheat in an election.”

He added, “For precisely this reason, the president’s misconduct cannot be decided at the ballot box, for we cannot be assured that the vote will be fairly won,” he said.

When that sh*thead Schiff said those words about ELECTIONS AND THE BALLOT BOX" ............. HE BLEW UP A VOLCANO!
