Rand Paul: 45 Republicans Prepared to Dismiss Charges Against President
Breitbart ^ | January 22, 2020 | HANNAH BLEAU

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said on Wednesday that 45 GOP senators are prepared to dismiss the charges against President Trump and effectively end the Senate impeachment trial.

The Kentucky senator told the Washington Post on day two of the Senate impeachment trial that 45 Republicans are ready to dismiss the charges against Trump. (Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the upper chamber.) He estimated that “five to eight” want to “hear a little more.”

“There are 45, with about five to eight wanting to hear a little more,” Paul told the Post. “I still would like to dismiss it, but there aren’t the votes to do it just yet.”

However, Paul said he is not pushing the point just yet.

“I will push it at some point,” he told the paper, adding, “The more Adam Schiff speaks, the more we become unified.”

Paul has openly rejected the Democrats’ calls for additional witnesses and has issued a political threat to his GOP colleagues, in the event they side with Democrats.

“If you vote against Hunter Biden, you’re voting to lose your election, basically. Seriously. That’s what it is,” Paul said, according to Politico. He continued:

If you don’t want to vote and you think you’re going to have to vote against Hunter Biden, you should just vote against witnesses, period. My first preference would be to be done with it as soon as possible and not to have any witnesses.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told reporters on Wednesday that a witness trade is “off the table,” but Paul affirmed that he does not believe the Senate should call former national security adviser John Bolton as a witness, referring to him as “a disgruntled employee with an ax to grind.”

After one day of the bug eye show, you’d think they would want out of the rat trap they are in. Must sit, can’t talk, can’t use electronic devices, can’t ask questions, have to listen to the dummy talk over and over. I’d vote to get out of that.

I still say Mitch won’t allow Trump to hold a Trump Rally in the Senate. He won’t allow a parade of witnesses that excoriate and accuse the Rats as many freepers seem to think will happen. This isn’t going to be “Well, at least if Barr is not going to do something these GOP Senators are going to!” No, they won’t. Remember, we are still waiting for Graham to “get to the bottom of Ballsy Ford” (whatever that even actually meant).

Actually I’m surprised it’s even 45 considering all the RINO pukes in office who hide under their desks in their safe spaces sucking their thumbs anytime the Rats get crazy. We held both houses and they lets the Rats stomp all over them with this Russia collusion sh— when it was known the Rats tried to steal the election with the help of the FBI, CIA, the AGs office and the B.Hussein caliphate of which to date not a solitary person has been held accountable for

45 Republicans vote acquittal, 8 Republicans vote with the Democrats, 47 Democrats vote for Conviction & Removal, measure fails 45-55.

House begins new Impeachment Inquiry.

I saw Diane Feinstein bugged out at 8:45 and went home. She should be disqualified since she missed some of Nadler’s and Schiffty’s lies. How can she make her “informed” decision now. Its as painful listening to Schiffty drone on and on and on and on, whether Republican or dem.

What really gets me is the MSM reporting of Trump denying Ukraine arms to defend itself when it was policy when Obama was in.

Short & Sweet: Republican, Leader, Mitch McConnell...end this farce today!!! Grow a backbone for goodness sake. Treat the darn Democrat scum & vermin the same way they Treated you Republicans and out great POTUS, Trump!!! They gave you nothing...not one thing!!!

And...whip that GOP Senate Caucus into shape. You tell any of your laggard weaklings...there better be fifty-three GOP votes for every vote you bring forward. “NO” is not an acceptable from Romney, Collins, Murkowski, etc. Tell them the either vote with the caucus as you require or, tell them to switch over to the Democrat Party, Traitors that they are!!!

And, Tell that fool Susan Collins that her seat is secure as the Sun rises in the heavens, every day because her POTUS, Trump is not only Going to carry her state of Maine, but he is going to drag her across the finish will a major easy victory come November. The POTUS will be in Maine many times!!!

Please remember that while the Republicans held both houses, the Senate Majority Leader hadn’t had his spine implant, yet, and the Speaker of the House was a leftist, establishment puke. RINO at best.

I think you would get to 50 at the conclusion of day #5 (first day of Trump team’s defense). And maybe 52 by day #6 (second day of Trump team defense).

Also I think Senator Manchin (WV, Dem) probably would agree on day #6 as well. Maybe even Senator Jones (Ala, Dem).

I would offer these two observations:

1. For some of these 70 and 80 year old Senators...this duty-day going to 10 PM, and likely not at home until 11:30 and probably not asleep until 1AM...will burn them out by the 10th day of this. Remember, they are supposedly working Saturdays as well.

If they go past two weeks of this, it wouldn’t surprise me at least of these guys has heart issues or a stroke.

2. After watching Schiff’s marginal presentation yesterday, I just don’t think the House staff is prepared for this impeachment. It just reminded me of first-year college students, and lacking preparation for an oral exam. Where exactly are the facts? Why isn’t Hunter Biden ever quizzed over anything?

I think polls over this weekend will show that virtually no one who voted for Trump in 2016....has changed their mind since the Senate hearing started, and that fact will worry the Democratic strategist. All this effort to reach this point, and virtually nothing to show for it?

A certain segment believe we have to have the appearance of impartiality and another segment thinks the trial is hurting the Democrats.
