During Monday’s broadcast of CBS’s “This Morning,” former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) sounded off on his outspokenness against President Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

Flake, who was never shy about his distrust of Trump, said it is “difficult” for Republican lawmakers to speak out against Trump because they do not want to lose their jobs.

There are more reasons than principle to speak out against the incumbent leader. In Flake’s case, it was probably partly out of personal ambition - he was hoping to displace Trump. Big mistake on his part.

Likewise, it is difficult for Democratic Lawmakers to speak out against impeachment 'because they want to keep their jobs.'

Trump is s threat to the largest bipartisan project of the last 30 years, the fundamental transformation of this country into North Mexico.

He is securing the border and restoring the rule of law and that is unacceptable to Democrats and Bush League Republicans who are just one amnesty away from stealing our country from us.

Have a problem with a Constitutional Republic Jeff?

~~~
That’s what I’m saying.
Doesn’t it seem obvious and common sense for a representative to think twice and evaluate whether it’s a good idea to speak negatively about a popular president?
You have the right to speak your mind, Jeff, but you don’t have the right to be insulated from the votes of your constituents.
...unless, of course, what you really want to imply is that Trump is a tyrant.
I love when the media (and public figures) do this crap. Trump is THE most scrutinized president ever. He couldn’t J-walk without hysterics calls for impeachment.
What this is all really code for is your disagreement with the people, not with Trump.
> Mr. Flake is upset that politicians can’t do as they wish without consequence.
In this particular context, Mr. Flake is more honest than 99.999% of our elected officials ON OUR SIDE OF THE ISLE...
Dont like that? Then GO HOME.
And once again we have Exhibit # 1 as to why we are here. DC does not know what it is like in Flyover Country. We are tired of all the grift our public officials engage in!!!
What has Jeff Flake done to stop it? Nothing.
Sit down, Flake. Next!
I can’t argue with that at all.
I am convinced beyond any doubt that Donald Trump was sent by God Himself.
It’s such a battle of Good versus Evil, it’s biblical.
