Another billion of taxpayer dollars down the rat hole. Wonder how much Newsom, Pelosi, et al, are taking in kickbacks.
Yeah, I’m sure this will turn out to everyone’s satisfaction, and their new dwellers well treat them with the care and respect that the taxpayers deserve.
And even if they pack them in a hundred to a trailer, they will be able to house, what, about .01% of the California homeless?

The main problem with most homeless people isn’t that they don’t have homes.
Another idea would be to put them on old cruise ships that have been mothballed. A typical ship can hold 3000 guests and that does not include the crew. Many of the deluxe rooms will have to be modified to reduce their size. I can imagine the banquet room having all the luxury as when they served passengers. It would be there they would get encouragement to get treatment for their drug addiction.

When we think of the Left as being a disease, we need of that disease as a kind of permanent immaturity...to think of it as a decision (usually the result of brainwashing) to remain childlike in one's understanding of life.
It seems that wisdom (or lack thereof) of the people on the Left is limited to a superficial understanding of life and reality. When they dig down, they see the real reasons for life's problems is complicated. And the solutions to those problems always requires maturity and self-discipline both on the part of those understanding the problems and those afflicted by them.
And when they begin to understand the complicated things, they begin to move away from the Left.
In fact, you might say that coming to an understanding of the complications of REAL life is very much akin to being "mugged by reality." The result is a reduction in idealism and an increase in conservatism.
So you're moving the homeless problem from one place to another place. How is that progress?
This will allow more people to become homeless.

My grandma called these people “bums” and understood that, far from victims, they were an aggressive plague on society and should be dealt with as such.
I suppose the “vacant lot” is already prepped with water, sewer and electric; has suitable streets and sidewalks up to code?

I think every county in the country has a cheap alternative to jailing their homeless, drug addicted and criminals: a bus ticket to CA! (Hell, a first class airline ticket would be cheaper than the housing of a criminal for a week)
SEND THEM ALL TO CALIFORNIA! (Tell them they will love the weather, but if they return they go to jail)
