New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo better watch out the bartender is back.
The nascent opposition to Cuomos dream of building a $2 billion AirTrain to LaGuardia Airport just got a boost from one of the biggest political megaphones in the city, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who helped scare off Amazon from a plan put together by the governor to bring the retail giants second headquarters to Queens.
The far-left freshman Democrat who represents portions of western Queens sent a blistering letter to the feds on Friday demanding more information about why the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey ruled out alternatives to Cuomos plan, including subway extensions and bus lanes.
This decision will have a lasting impact on thousands of people in our community, Ocasio-Cortez said in a statement. The community must receive answers to their fundamental questions and its imperative that we understand why further investment and improvement of other transit options have been ruled out.
Ocasio-Cortezs opposition lends a powerful voice that helped to coalesce opposition to Amazons now-aborted plans to build a corporate campus in Long Island City. That defeat saw Cuomo flooded with more than 2,000 emails and letters chiding him over the loss of the $3 billion deal, including one that read, You got outsmarted by a bartender, alluding to one of Ocasio-Cortezs prior jobs.

Fredo will throw her down the stairs.
Any doubt now about whether or not she will be redistricted out of a job???
Ex-bartenders,,, is there anything they don’t know?
not one more Federal dime for NYC shithole projects.
AOC will be challenging either cryin chuck or tina rudnick for a NY senate seat in a few years.... and she’ll win.
Wow, that is cheerful news! Not!
La Guardia is over 80 years old. I think it’s time NYC simply built a brand-new airport just outside the city. In fact, I think it’s time for huge, mega regional airports that serve a section of each country. If someone has to drive 5 hours to the airport so be it. I’m going to Costa Rica this summer and have no issues driving to Chicagostan for a cheaper and possible non-stop flight.
They already have one, it is called Newark Liberty
I would rather DC be full of bar tenders and taxi cab drivers then lawyers and lobbyists
She isn’t an idiot because she was a bar tender, she’s an idiot who happens to have been a bar tender
I do like that she is shaking up the Dem party, she makes things interesting over there.
This twit cant blast anything, even the idiot Fredo.
Hendricks Gin. Well, her customers had good taste in something.

I have not followed this process, but I would bet that they have already published thier findings on why this is the best option. She can probably find it on a website devoted to this project.
Unfortunately Southwest pulled out of Newark. That has really screwed up my travel plans.
I will not use LaGuardia.
AIC is a twit. I swear she complains about crap like this just to hear herself b**ch. The AirTran is a complete no-brainer for LaGuardia. Both of the other airports in NYC (Newark Liberty and JFK) have an AirTran. Its basically just a dedicated rail shuttle that provides service both within the airport and a rail connection to local transportation options the NJ Transit commuter rail station for Newark and 2 NYC subway stations plus a LIRR station for JFK. In addition the AirTran provides service between terminals within the airports and to the car rental companies at JFK allowing them to be located away from the terminal. I believe it also serves the long term parking at Newark. The net result is that auto traffic in the airports is alleviated.
A subway extension or rapid bus route (buses suck in NYC anyway because of heavy traffic) would not be able to serve this dual purpose of both providing service within the airport and connection to other transport options. That makes AirTran an easy choice.
The sfachime has met his match
