Brooks acts like we are all helpless victims of Trump, and things cannot return to "normal" until he is gone. Trump's presidency has been very illuminating. If we had the intellectual honesty and moral courage, we could all learn a lot as a nation.
Our politicians are proving daily they are not moored by strong belief in policy and what is best for citizens, but simply care about retaining their own power. Their hatred for Trump has them constantly changing positions like a weather vane, running rough-shod over constitutional norms and the result - they are guilty of all the terrible things they accuse him of doing.
Trump hatred has made hypocrites out of life-long establishment political leaders. Now the truth shines brightly.

While the left certainly operates out of a knee-jerk overwrought, uncalibrated manner, incapable of having an intelligent conversation, what Mr. Brooks and his kin simply cannot fathom is that their whole paradigm is wrong, just plain wrong.
They cannot conceive or comprehend that their entire liberal paradigm is wrong and this enrages them. It absolutely enrages them that liberalism, as personified by Barrack Obama, was a complete an abject failure, and that conservative principles, as deployed by Trump, have proven successful over and over again, as they did under Reagan too.
