He did not get charged, in spite of his committing a technical trespass by carrying into the “gun-free zone” at the mall. That is good. I cannot blame him for carrying wherever he goes. “Gun-free zones” are disasters waiting to happen, IMO.

According to the article the “gun-free zone” is INSIDE the mall, not outside in the parking lot.

The Post Gazette misreported this line, or at best misled readers by making them think being near (ie in parking lot) a store that is inside the mall equates to being in the mall:
... but the altercation happened near the Macys inside the mall.
As reported by multiple other sources, it occurred outside, near Macys.

I do too.
It’s the sensible thing to do when we live with psychopathic liberals walking around free.

I've carried long enough that I can frequently able to tell when someone else in the vicinity is carrying.
In my experience I've come to understand that a lot of "gun free" zones aren't.

Not sure about PA, but when I lived in a free state and had a CCW (Not Maryland), you could only be charged with trespass if the store owner knew you had a firearm and you refused to leave.
This incident sounds like one of the 1,000,000 legit CCW uses annually. Peace through superior firepower

Does PA ban carry in some way at malls? I know most in Texas (the malls themselves, not the government) technically ban it, but they don't post signs on every entrance (or really any entrance), so you can carry around as much as you want, security will just ask you to leave at some point.
