Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she no longer has cancer, following a flurry of recent health scares.
“I’m cancer-free. That’s good,” she said in an interview late Tuesday with CNN.
Last year, Ginsburg underwent treatment for what likely was pancreatic cancer, according to a statement from the Supreme Court. In late 2018, she was treated for cancerous growths on her lungs.

According to his doctors, my brother, 57, died of exactly the same thing Carter had within a year and a half of initial diagnosis and he was in perfect health.
I agree.
You read about transplants and replacements and blah blah blah procedures and my kinfolk die while Jimma Carter continues to soak up the sun.

Curing or containing?

That’s my instinct. She probably getting the kind of frankensteinian attention that even rich/famous celebs like Patrick Swayze and Steve Jobs didn’t even get.

As a fellow cancer survivor, I hope she is cancer free. I wish she’d take her tired ass home though so President Donald J. Trump could appoint her replacement.
Used to be an ANCIENT lady who lived in my neighborhood, she was actually our landlord. The black children around there said that their parents said she was old as dirt when they were children and that on judgment day she would have to be run down and shot!
At what point does someone in her situation sit back , relax and just soak up the sun and have some excellent bourbon and a Cuban cigar?
In some of these cases (not all), there is a nutritional specialist who enters the scene, and ensures a steady consumption of food/calories continue on through the treatment. Having seen the effect of cancer on people, and the treatment business...it’s awful rough on some people and their appetites dissolve away.
She also has much more of a sense of purpose and mission and crusadership than the average American cancer patient. The entire future of healthcare of American womanhood depends on her (from her POV). Tens of millions of her fans exult her. Which other average cancer patient has that kind of pull? Not even Steve Jobs.

My friend who is 77 was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017. The tumor was such that it affected his speech. He was said to be Stage 4, terminal and given 6 months.
After say a month or so and some treatment his doctor told hin the treatment was ineffective and had not really altered his condition. The doctor advised there was a non approved treatment, an unapproved drug that would either cure him or kill him.
He opted for the treatment. The initial lung cancer is gone. He can speak normally. He appears healthy. I’m told that he is being treated for another cancer condition that cropped up recently but is different from that he had initially.
Perhaps RBG received such treatment

I do think that cures exist. The right people have access to things which are withheld from the public. RBG and Carter go on and on against all odds.

Actually, I’m a cancer survivor too - prostate in my case, but it was large and hadn’t (supposedly) yet metastasized. After one year now, PSA still undetectable.
I remember reading a lot of speculation over the years that it must have been something else.
Hawking was something like a fireman to many people, don’t dare question anything about how great he is. Criticize a fireman about anything and hear a “Fine, see how fast he comes when you need him” retort.
I never heard of anyone else with the diagnosis living more than a few years.
I don’t trust anything in print that doesn’t pass the smell test.
