Sometimes you take a hit, and don’t retaliate, to defuse the situation. No harm done, no harm returned.

Not benign but likely they did not want to cross the red line of killing Americans - they know the response will be swift and lethal - along with taking out a lot of infrastructure....they’ll be eating their camels by candlelight if they aren’t careful and they hate the taste of camel meat....reminds them of their women after spending a lifetime in a Burka..
