I like the word "apocryphal" because it says a lot in one small word (meaning: "of doubtful authenticity, although widely circulated as being true")...and a lot of things we hold as true are actually "apocryphal."

But I too have to google it because I can never remember how it's spelled.;-)

I like to look up the origin of words like that but it was a little murky.

It mentioned Greek, Late Latin, Middle English as languages it’s derived from. Shouldn’t it just be one language?

First used in the 1300s it says.

then how could Greek be involved?
