He starts off with the profit motive, then switches to competition, and then finally destruction. People compete against each other for boyfriends, girlfriends, mates, jobs, scholarships, sports, Capitalism vs Communism, etc, etc.

And he sets up a Strawman that the desire to acquire leads to destruction because he has acquired a private jet and big bucks from his book deals.

And Bernie is competiting right now for the nomination of the Democrat Party for president. Democrats across the board in the House (like Pelosi), Senate, etc, own businesses that compete against other businesses all the time.

Now, Bernie, competition does not necessarily “destroy” anybody. It makes two, or more, parties stronger, as they play up their strengths and the management keeps its head in the game. The objective is not to “win” and crush the competition, it is to prove, on a daily basis, that you can do something positive for the potential customer base.
