Here’s a good post:
See post #41
Range time is very well spent.
The video is making me re-evaluate my holster choice.
The guy that got his gun caught up in his shirt was a sad thing to see.
I use a belt clip in my pants on the side with my Glock 22 under my shirt which I dont tuck in.
I probably would have dived to my left side on the floor to draw it and fire above the pew. The perp could easily shoot through the pew but he might not know that I am drawing my gun.
The guy who made the championship shot was out of the focus of the perp.
Beautiful shot and he is probably in anguish that he did not draw sooner.
I dont know how he could have done it any better except for that.
It was disturbing to see for sure, I know that we have several guns in our church sanctuary on any Sunday.
I dont care about the laws about it and, neither do the others.
Any of us could be that dead guy that couldnt get his gun out.
God bless him.
When someone talking on another thread this morning about the black slashing Jews in New York, he said his pastor asked him and his wife to please carry.
I gave the reply which I will repeat for this Texas church story:
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
Looks to me like the first guy shot had trouble drawing his weapon.
Bad guy shoots a guy that posed no threat to him, that I could see, ignoring the good guy, who kills him
I think so
Heartbreaking
And, this
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that church elder Mike Tinius said the gunman had drawn the suspicion of church security shortly before the shooting.
Major error. Should have told him to keep his hands where they could be seen if they realized something was wrong (trench coat and backpack a dead giveaway) and then called the police.
“Wow, that was a single shot to the head of the perp. He went down like a sack of potatoes”
That shot must have been from 40+ feet. Under the circumstances, hell of a shot.
Do we know anything about the murderer? I know they have said it was a man (is that allowed?) but there is absolutely no other information that I have seen. It seems strange in this day and age to not have anything.
ULTIMATE GUN CONTROL!
#14. Re this video is going to give a lot of church shooters pause. No, if they are psychos of any type, this will not stop them, only make them change their tactics.
However, it could put stakes in the political careers of presidential candidates like Biden who oppose allowing trained, CWP carries inside a house of worship to protect it.
Talk about bad timing. Good. This hero in the Texas church shooting (I think he was also killed or wounded), may ave saved so many more lives of worshippers than anyone could ever image not only by his actions, but by his destroying the Democrats/Liberals/Marxists arguments against a well trained, gun-carrying population to help protect us from killers when the regular police are not around.
Remember, the person who killed the anti-Semitic gunman at the Pocay, Cal, synagogue shooting (that wounded a doctor and killed his wife), was a law enforcement officer (or retired one who was a member of the congregation).
The shual in Pittsburgh had no such person to guard them and paid a terrible price for it.
Maybe my shual will reconsider some of its less than effective protective steps they have taken or recommended in light of what just happened at this Texas church.
Kept his cool and took perp down with a single shot from 30 or so feet with the first 2 blasts still ringing in the air...
It was as if, looking at his demeanor, he didn’t believe that the shooter was going to shoot.
(very lackadaisical,”OK I have a gun too, what are you going to... BANG!)
Or said differently; he may have mistakenly thought that his furtive movement, drawing his weapon, was enough to make the shotgun holder back down.
And for that, he paid with his life, sadly.
That said, it gave good guy the extra seconds he needed to get a head shot lined up.
Turns out he was a fire arms instructor.
Also there was another shot from the front row, a second one. Big muzzle flash, likely a snub-nosed mag revolver. It lit up the wall.
