Republican senators Warren Daniel and Joyce Krawiec released a joint statement on the court order.
"An overwhelming majority of North Carolina voters amended the state Constitution to require voter ID, and an unelected judge just suppressed their votes.
The bill to implement that amendment was passed by a bipartisan supermajority and was even sponsored by a Democrat.
It provides more ways to comply with the ID requirement than almost any state in the country, including issuing free IDs.
We urge the Attorney General's office and the State Board of Elections to immediately appeal this decision, since this vote-suppressing judge won't even permit the legislature to participate in the case and defend the law from this latest radical attack."

How many judges are real idiots. If they had to be elected only the morons would vote for them.

How do these people buy a beer? Board an airplane? Pick up concert tickets? Drive a car? Cash a check? Go to the doctor?
But try to get a library card without a photo ID.

The Democrat judge's reasoning was this:
1) The purpose of the ID requirement was to unambiguously identify each person with a photo ID for voting purposes.
2) Photo IDs fail this purpose because two people that look very similar may have the same or very similar photographs.
3) All blacks look alike, so 2) combined with 1) implies a discriminatory intent towards African-Americans.
Therefore the law is discriminatory and must be struck down.
Until the voters start getting pissed off about this type of crap, there will be no consequences.
How many terms will it take for President Trump to replace EVERY dump-a-crap appointed federal judge?

Can we citizen arrest judges? Inquiring minds want to know.
I think these same judges should also issue injunctions against showing IDs and to go through the search requirements to board airplanes. And no showing IDs to purchase liquor, tobacco products, or to have driver’s licenses to drive cars.
Let me get this straight:
1) A NC Democrat sponsored the change to the NC constitution.
2) A bipartisan supermajority of NC voted to pass it.
3) It was a full-on amendment to the NC constitution itself.
So really only one of two outcomes can happen because of this federal judge. So the only two outcomes of this can be:
1) It stands or goes to the supreme court and is upheld which means it has to be considered national precedent and no state will ever be able to try to impose voter ID again.
2) The appeal is successful and there won’t be any choice BUT to put it into practice and uphold it by law because NC amended their constitution. The highest form of state law.
This should be interesting.
