Can you imagine living your whole life as a good guy, going through every day up to that point not realizing that is how it’s gonna end? Good people should take this lesson from everywhere else that it’s happened.

Pretty much sums up the vast majority of gun owners. Met lots of good people on the range and at shooting competitions. There were always a few wing-nuts out there as well, but they were pretty easy to spot.
Should the breaking be reached, the response by the citizenry will need to be swift and harsh. The government elements have the ability of better coordination on the front side which can be a real advantage; I just don't know how many from law enforcement will go along with it. 20 years ago, I'd of said not not many, but nowadays there are plenty of cops that shouldn't be cops and the government people feel all sorts of self-entitled and above the people.
Might be worth for people to read Vince Flynn's "Term Limits", and John Ross' "Unintended Consequences" (PDF format) for some ideas.
