That was good for a laugh, but it is stunning how stupid our reps are. I remember when I looked up to them. That time is gone.

Yes, a governor can call up his state’s National Guard. But I think only the president can “federalize” the Guard.

And that would lead to an interesting situation. Suppose the Virginia governor activates the Guard to confiscate guns. Then President Trump federalizes the Guard, and tells them to stand down. Then what?

I think the Guard stands down. The president as commander-in-chief outranks any state governor.

I believe the only person who can federalize the National Guard is the Commander in Chief, President Trump, and hopefully to arrest the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia for volating the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.
