Vice President Mike Pence's chief of staff, Marc Short, is "confident" House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will send the House-passed articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate, despite her threats to withhold them until lawyers agree on Senate trial terms.
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Short told host Chris Wallace that Pelosi will eventually move the impeachment process along.
"The reality is that she said in the House that this president poses such a grave danger to the globe that we have to trample on his constitutional rights ... We’re going to trample those rights to rush this through, and now we’re going to hold it up to demand a longer process in the Senate with more witnesses," he said.
“We’re quite confident this position is untenable, and she’s going to move it along,” he continued, later adding, “She will yield; there’s no way she can hold this position.”
After the House passed two articles of impeachment against Trump, including abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, Pelosi indicated that she might not send the articles to the Republican-controlled Senate right away. Instead, she would like to wait until Republican Senate leaders set terms for a trial that are fair to Democrats.
Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina later said he would support indefinitely withholding the articles from the Senate if that is what Pelosi chooses to do, saying he is willing to wait “as long as it takes."
Short also expressed that the president is looking forward to a fair trial in the Senate, which could include calling in witnesses.
“He’s frustrated by what he finds to be a completely unreasonable impeachment. So, sure, he’s frustrated by that, but he’s also anxious to get not just acquitted but exonerated in the Senate. So, he’s looking forward to his opportunity to have a fair trial in the Senate,” he said.
When pressed on if that means calling witnesses to testify, Short responded, "When [Senate Minority Leader Chuck] Schumer says he wants the same proceedings as what happened to [Bill] Clinton, I think that’s what we welcome too. He’s trying to change the rules and have a whole different process."

Yup, don’t like him, don’t trust him.
Every thing within the vast body of material gathered by the Democrats, by the IG report, and from all the records which Trump has unclassified is fair game now for the trial...and nobody is going to object so even if he wanted to John Roberts can't sustain any objections. And so this can go right into warrant-less spying on Trump in 2015, Burisma, whatever.
I'm thinking that articles of impeachment are never going to be transmitted.
One of the main reasons is because she looks like the liar she is when she said the impeachment had to be done quickly because of Trump’s “damage” to the country. Also, because hew own lawyers have said that the impeachment is not complete until the House sends the articles of impeachment is sent to the Senate.
Polosi is trying to stack the deck. The very last thing she wants is a “fair trial”.

Pelosi may hold them so more articles of impeachment against the President can be added. May the SENATE put an end to this charade.
Earlier today I considered the remarkable possibility that President Trump doesn't want a trial at all, and that what he really wants is for the House of Representatives to take the unprecedented step of rescinding its own articles of impeachment.
The most effective strategy to do this is to place this dilemma squarely in front of them:
Either vote these articles of impeachment out of existence, or face the spectacle of a former vice president and current presidential candidate (Biden) dragged in front of the U.S. Senate as a witness for the defense in this impeachment trial.

I can’t stand Pence. He is a major league, boring, empty-suit, bull-shitter. There is zero substance to anything he says except the way he sucks up to Trump is disgusting.
Closer to the election would cripple them more.

Pence has never been anything but 100% supportive of the President in any of the times he has spoke and neither did his staff in the comments in the article.
