The guy is wrong. Voting is not what sets us apart from other nations. Many countries have elections. It is the text if our Constitution that sets us apart.
With respect, it’s not just the text of that document.
It’s our willingness to abide by it, to respect it, to fight and die for the principles it enshrines.
