I would disagree with Mark on this one. The House has sole power of impeachment, until it sends Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, they can do whatever they want under their own House rules. The Senate has zero say over impeachment (until or unless the articles are filed). (It’s also not a formal impeachment unless the articles are filed.)

The constitution does not speak on the “filing” of articles of impeachment, so you are merely expressing your opinion of the issue, and may or may not be correct.
I agree with you SunStar. And like I said above, Pelosi can insist until she is blue in the face that the Senate make the rules before they send the articles, but McConnell doesn’t have to do anything until the articles are delivered.
Maybe the Democrats want to sit on them a while to keep the spotlight on themselves. They have been in attack mode for 3 years and this is more or less their last shot. What are they going to do next to keep the masses agitated? What more can they do to damage Trump? They went down this road, and now they don’t want the spotlight to turn on over Trump and the GOP Senate where it is pretty much a political imperative that Trump and the GOP begin to “rehabilitate their image” so to speak and return fire on the Democrats. They don’t want to give up control.
then this “impeachment” remains little more than an “inquiry”. This is basically
like the tree falling in the forest
Whether they send them or not they passed the charges and the vote is recorded, so how do you undo that?
