(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement regarding the House of Representatives’ impeachment of President Donald Trump:

There has been nothing in American history that compares to the coup attack that targeted President Trump. It was an abuse of the Constitution. Frankly, the word impeachment should have been replaced with the word coup, because the president was targeted for removal from office for doing his job in asking questions about Ukraine corruption and its ties to Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden and Burisma. To be clear, the president was also attacked for objecting to the House Democrats’ abuse of his office.

The U.S. Senate should reject this act of tyranny by the House of Representatives. In the meantime, you can be sure that Judicial Watch will investigate the Biden-Ukraine scandal, as well as the Deep State scandals and the illegal spying on the president of the United States. Our republic is at stake.

Err..., a question. How exactly does that comport with your ‘articles of impeachment’ ?

In 1998 Bill Clinton signed a negotiated treaty with Ukraine to share information on criminal activity, corruption and bribery. Trump did nothing that was not approved by Clinton’s treaty.

On January 20, 2017, the day of Donald Trump's inauguration, the Washington Post wrote "The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun".

That's what it's always been about. Reversing an election they didn't like the results of.

Just like they tried unsuccessfully in Florida in the 2000 presidential election selectively counting and recounting, trying desperately to get the ballots they needed.

Just like they successfully pulled off in Washington state in 2004 when the Republican governor candidate won the election as well as the first recount yet the Democrat, Christine Gregoire, won on a second highly suspicious recount in which they kept "finding" more ballots that were magically overwhelmingly for Gregoire.

Just like they successfully pulled off in Minnesota in 2008 when the Republican U.S. Senate candidate won yet with each recount ballots would go missing, others would mysteriously appear and after weeks or months they finally stuffed enough ballot boxes for the win.

Just like they tried unsuccessfully with a recall election in Wisconsin that failed and Governor Walker won by a larger margin than his original win.

To repeat my tagline: The Democrats have proven themselves to be pure evil.
