None of us expects that, but there is nothing that says it can't. James Clyburn said in a TV interview that it would be his preference that the articles never be sent to the Senate. We are in bizarro world now where nothing is certain.

It will be a new Congress after the next election so they'll have to conduct a new impeachment vote. This is another reason why the Dem reps from Trump districts who voted foe this impeachment need to be mercilessly targeted and replaced with Pubs.
