24. Why haven’t we already thrown people in prison? “These things take time.” The government has to have proof beyond a reasonable doubt before we indict; it’s a substantial hurdle. Nobody is going to be indicted and go to jail unless that standard is met.
If the shoe were on the other foot, with democrats investigating Republicans, people would be indicted on the flimsiest of pretexts, charge would be piled atop duplicative and overlapping charge, decades in prison would be threatened, reputations would be ruined, careers would be destroyed and people would be bankrupted … all in an effort to squeeze a plea to feed a media narrative.
The people involved in this conspiracy should get the full Mueller treatment, in which the process is the punishment. Absent that, they won't talk. They will stonewall and eventually walk away, heroes of a fictionalized democrat account of the whole affair. They will enjoy an early retirement with lucrative CNN gigs and book deals. And the victors will write the histories.
If a democrat wins in 2020, all cases will be dropped and no one will face justice.
