Pretty good indication Trump is going to win.

That is good to know! So all this brouhaha by Pelosi & Schiff about upholding the constitution is bull crap. Therefore the article about obstruction to Judicial committee is bogus as well.

Correct! Any majority party in House can impeach president of other party for any excuse. Ridiculous. Impeachment should require 2/3 majority vote similar to Senate.

Dershowitz says it’s significant, because it is the basis for the House’s charge of obstruction of Congress.

They aren’t “broad” claims.

They are NORMAL claims. This is based on Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s accepting of a stay. If even Ginsberg realized that a stay is necessary, then there’s nothing “broad” in Trump’s request at all.

President’s have been resisting congressional subpoena’s my entire life and it was never an issue until Trump. There was grousing, but no one ever said that a president doesn’t have the right to do so UNTIL NOW.

Trump is the straw man here, although the left will gain pleasure in his defeat or humiliation.

The real effort is to convert our system of government into a parliamentary-style form, where the executive is subservient and the judiciary is the rubber stamp.

I hope that they will find that just because he is The President doesn’t mean he loses his protections from unlawful search and seizure.

I’m surprised leftists are demanding that the tax records of every Trump supporter also be made public.

I think the difference is greater than that. In Capone’s case, he was recognized as a leading underworld figure who, through underlings, was the benefactor of illegally gotten gains. His tax returns did not reflect that income. So that was the predicate for the tax charge against him

In Trump’s case, there is no independent and verifiable claim of under-reporting income to the IRS in an effort to evade paying taxes. If Trump used legal loopholes that were codified in law, then good for him. There is no underlying illegality. The whole basis of the claim is an effort to find something that is more embarrassing than illegal.

I believe the Supreme Court will come down hard on this as it does reflect a huge intrusion on 4th Amendment protections.

The granting of certiorari alone tells you the Court thinks there is a problem right from the start. I’d love to be able to hear the oral arguments on this one.

“Even the headline is biased, as if Trump is claiming nobody can investigate him for any reason.”

That is Joe Biden’s position

I just learned that US Constitution has no verbiage about congress having the authority to oversight the executive branch. So I am guessing congress must have passed some laws to build in oversight protocol over the executive. Well first they are all 3 co-equal branches of gov’t. And that is why we have elections so voters can decide who they want in congress and who will be the commander-in-chief.

In the current melodrama, democrats have been on a fishing expedition from the day of inauguration. No documents should be released by the executive unless there is evidence of wrong doing. Evidence is the horse, not the cart.

In this case the Dems are hoping they can find something and that’s why they are so hell-bent on getting it. They have no evidence of any wrongdoing so it is really a fishing Expedition. SCOTUS should side with him on this case. Their goal is not just prosecution but to find anything they can spin or use to embarrass Trump politically.
