Journalist Tareq Haddad said on Saturday that he had resigned from his position at Newsweek because the outlet "suppressed" details -- potentially "inconvenient" to the U.S. government -- surrounding a chemical weapons watchdog's report on the 2018 attack in Syria.
"Yesterday I resigned from Newsweek after my attempts to publish newsworthy revelations about the leaked OPCW letter were refused for no valid reason," Haddad tweeted, referring to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
Haddad's tweet came as the OPCW defended itself amid concerns about its reporting on the April 7, 2018, chemical weapons attack in Syria -- something that prompted retaliation from the United States and other major powers.
Wikileaks had published an internal email raising concerns about the organization's findings.
It's unclear what Haddad uncovered but he planned on publishing the information, along with evidence of how Newsweek suppressed the story.

Chem agent was from our CIA..?
Did it occur to the author to ask Haddad before writing this post?
From the article,
“Fox News did not immediately receive a response from an email address found on what appeared to be Haddad’s personal website. “
The guy just needs to publish whatever he has on a web site—this is 2019.
No drama needed.
Many reporters are just lazy.
+1
His failure to just release his findings makes me suspicious of its veracity now.
Tareq Haddad.
Good.
Now GTF out of our country.
Yeah, since when does Newsweak give a crap about what a Republican administration thinks. I’m betting the editor punted the story because it was the quality of your average Infowars “article” and we’ll see that when he throws it up on a personal website after a less than stellar public response. This guy sounds like the lead singer of a lame band at a frat party trying to drum up an encore, “If you don’t make some noise we’ll go home,” and the audience is saying, “Good, later, see ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya...”
LOL
