The headline says they were ARRESTED.
Then the story says :"As of Friday evening, six Saudi nationals have been DETAINED for questioning."

That is big difference.

It might be they were detained to be interrogated about their fellow Saudi who did the shooting. -Tom

The only way I will be ‘detained’ is by arrest or being asked; politely; if I wouldn’t mind talking to authorities about what I know.
