[[[The new rule requires recipients who are not disabled and 18-49 years old to work 36 hours in 2 months.]]]

Wow that’s horrible.

Double down Mr. President.

Cut all Welfare, Food Stamps, and financial aid for at least 5 years!

Perhaps she finds it insulting that this change is coming so close to Christmas. I view it as a gift to the American taxpayer!

36 hours in 2 months! How cruel! How degrading! IMPEACH!!!

How much of her own money has this nitwit patty donated to charity since she has been a senator?

One with the Senate healthcare plan certainly could get a dental plan too.

Good lord! If we can’t even get past the nonsense criticism of a very small, and very common sense reform of welfare benefits, how can we fix the big stuff?

Oh Patty, you are our hero. It really kills you when Trump does something that keeps people from being dependent on you, right?

Murray may not understand how much damage steps like this cause - gummint handouts (done to garner votes) sap the will to live specifically the work ethic.

I've actually been there. Got on food stamps (briefly) to slow my cash burn when my crooked former company fired me in order to steal my accumulated vacation and sick time. They also decided to contest my unemployment filing when I told them off. Eventually, I beat them and got the unemployment, but the food stamp money was welcome to slow the burn of my savings until the case was decided in my favor.

Without going into details, let's just say that we found out how the food stamp crowd was able to afford stuff we couldn't normally buy for ourselves when I was working.

“I believe it only applies to able-bodied people under 50 with no children. Why shouldn’t they be required to work to receive food stamps?”——

Per your posted information, this will just incentivize all these slugs to get busy overpopulating the country so that they can fleece additional free chit from the working stiffs.

So embarrassed that my fellow Washingtonians keep voting for this dimwit. My apologies to the rest of America, including the fact that Cantwell gets voted in every six years.

Which character would Patty be portraying? “Midnight” the cat; or “Froggy” the gremlin?

Murray always looks like a schlub. An embarrassment in a city that’s the home of Nordstrom.

Murray and Cantwell are my senators....Murray is a terrible embarrassment. Every year, people who work on The Hill vote her the stupidest person in congress. Cantwell is not quite as lockstep. In fact, the Seattle Times, the one voice of conservatism in Seattle, put out a list of people to vote for ...all were Repubs. Except the idiot running against Cantwell. They said she was an idiot and Cantwell wasn’t entirely awful.

As my dear Mother always said, you help people who can’t help themselves, not people who won’t help themselves.

Does this mean I have to revise one of my favorite sayings, dumber than a box of Barbara Boxers?

Please.....Bubba did the same thing with welfare...

IIRC, the Republicans in congress kept passing welfare reform and Clinton vetoed it 3 times before reading the tea leaves and finally signing it. It wasn't really something he did of his own initiative (although he sure took credit for the results.)

SNAP acts as a gateway benefit. Once you’re on SNAP, why other freebies open up to you. Locally AT&T runs ads basically giving free Internet to SNAP recipients. I’m sure SNAP qualifies one for a free cell phone as well. I’m sure there are others as well.
