"70,000?."

Certainly! As long as you are using "million-man-march" math...

That is the total number of kids that were in custody at any point in 2019. There are about 4000 in custody at this moment.

There are a lot of articles about this, which illustrate one important thing — if the parents agree to go back to their country, or to mexico, they can be re-united with their kids.

THe problem of course is that a judge ruled we can’t actually incarcerate kids. But the democrats refuse to appropriate money to build enough housing to put the parents and the children together.

Obama used this as an excuse to release the illegal immigrants, who then went into hiding with their kids and never showed up for hearings.

The “change” Trump made was that he doesn’t release the parents. Everything else is exactly like the law requires. If the parents come to the right place and file the right paperwork, they can wait in their home country, or in mexico, while their case is worked.

It is a choice by these parents to cross the border illegally, and then to wait in prison for their trials. Every person in this country who awaits trials in prison are separated from their kids, because we don’t put kids in the prisons with their parents.
