The leadership of North Korea only has to make one decision, do they live or do they die!
North Korea may or may not have a nuclear weapon and the ability to reach US Territory but do they have the will to use such a weapon?
Let us assume they have such a weapon, and assume they have the ability to launch an attack...then what?
Even they are not insane enough to think they could win a war with the US.
And as divided as we are politically the President would have no problem getting a DECLARATION OF WAR out of Congress, the US would enter into it’s first real all out war since WWII.
When North Korea invaded the South in the 1950s American’s military had been cut back to peace time levels. We did not have the troops, supplies, or transports required to fight a land war on the other side of the globe.
It is a different story today.
South Korea would sustained much damage and many deaths, but in an all out war without restrictions North Korea would cease to exist.
Do I think the leadership of North Korea is insane? No. Then why are they doing this. Simple, because making threats in he past gained them some sort of reward. They still have not realized that President Trump is not like all previous Presidents. He will wait them out.
As a side note, it is my belief that if the leader of NK were to give an order to launch a nuclear missile at the US he would be assassinated.
