He should have given them to “high noon” to sign the impeachment or get outta town. Would have been more dramatic.
They don’t care. All they want is to hear the media say, “Trump, who was impeached, blah blah.”
They think that alone will cause President Trump to lose re-election.
Rebuttal witnesses? Low info voters won’t be watching. “Trump’s been impeached”, is enough for them.
Those who acted to stop their being put on the trains were themselves put on the trains, along with their families. A free and civil society is a fragile thing.

He’s already referred people for indictment (McCabe et. al.), and they have been indicted. The DOJ is squeezing them as they seek to see how wide, deep (and high!) these crimes go. It takes time.

What I don’t get is the optics of voting for impeachment just before Christmas are absolutely awful. Adam Grinch doesn’t play well.

It has been announced publicly that it will be released on 9 December (Monday - one week after Schiff’s Impeachment Report), and that the IG (Horowitz) will testify on it to the Senate Judiciary committee on Wednesday, 11 December.

Yes, his is why there should have been several special counsels like Mueller to investigate. All we will instead get is hand wringing.
Durham is hardly in hiding — he is conducting his criminal investigation as professionally required — behind closed doors and with a grand jury. He just recently expanded it to include the Pentagon. Where have you been?
Everything is proceeding according to standards and procedures that allow for the best chance for convictions, including the Senate’s role.
Sen. Graham knows he must not proceed in any way that can compromise the other investigations and has stated numerous times that he must wait until the IG report is completed. Horowitz will be testifying before the Senate on December 11 regarding his report, which will be released to the public Dec. 9.
