It appears you are right.
I could not find 'corporation papers' for the Wesleyan denomination; but I DID find this:

I'd bet all this stuff was NOT need back before the IRS and LAWYERS and other politician types got involved!
Where Trayvon was is a potential flashpoint. Large, diverse elementary school, park, rec center, popular commuter rail station, are all in close proximity. Incredibly stupid that there's no police presence where the shooting happened, especially that day. So, when a dispatch call came in that a large black male was waving a gun around, the patrolmen got there fast, ready to use their guns.
As far as we know, their hasn't been much if any attempt to find out who gave Treyvon that authentic looking toy gun with the markings removed and encouraged him to act like a thug in the park with it.
Where do you get the ashes for Ash Wednesday?
Do they believe that Christ is the Son of God and was sent to become man, then took all of our sin upon himself and accepted our rightful punishment that we need not do so? That "whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life"?
If they believe, yes, they are Christians. With some strange beliefs on the side, like their version of Heaven. and special underclothing.
If they don't, they're not.
Elsie, we have both been missing the internal reason for the incorporation. It has been right in front of us all the time.

From the palm leaves the week before.
It sounds they can ‘believe’ anything else as well as the basic thing you mentioned here and still be a ‘christian’.
Hell; we don’t give ABORTIONists this luxury!
acquiring, holding and disposing of Church or religious society property,
I didn't miss it. Maybe you've not noticed the priority of the words of the listing.
I think about this kind of thing when I hear of a congregation that wants to break from its parent denomination and there is a legal battle over who owns the building. Or who has to finish paying for the building.
If you want to leave the Church, the building belongs to the Church through the corporate arm.
I was watching a video on the transportation portion of the welfare system. Instead of getting by with donated hand me down trucks that are starting to cost more than replacing them, because of good money management they are able to help the employees at the truck plant have a job by buying new. And the maintenance department is top rate. Buy new and maintain, good stewardship of God’s money.
“From the palm leaves the week before”
Shouldn’t that be the year before, not the week before?
Ash Wednesday is Wednesday, February 26th, 2020
Palm Sunday is Sunday, April 5, 2020
correct
A need for correction is what happens when my words are used and not those from a better source.

“Ash Wednesday” is NOT found in Scripture, it’s something Rome came up with and some Protestants thought it was such a good idea they still do it; too.
I guess kinda like ‘covenants’ that are not found in Mormon scripture; either.
Will go see it again when it comes the Buell Theatre in Denver this year.
We do not follow the custom.
I found it in the back of my mom’s Methods hymnal.
