Other than Confucianism or Daoism, all other major religions in China -— Christianity, Buddhism and Islam were imported from the West. Marxism/Communism (which is like a religion) is the most recent.

Yeah. That’s the crazy part of the ChiCom dogma. They base their philosophy on a forein ideal invented by Europeans.

And as far as Islam, the PRC did recognize Islam as a Chinese religion, a minority one, but native to China.
