I probably tend to be less conservative than most on this board when it comes to stuff like this.
But if you’re on SOMEONE ELSE’S property with the intent to rob, then i don’t care where you get shot, you shouldn’t have been there.
They weren’t a half block away running from the guy and shot in the back.
How is he supposed to figure out if they might turn around or not? Or what they’d do next?
He’s not a trained officer.
what’s he gonna say? “Turn around slowly”?

That’s the reason that I’d vote not guilty on this type of case. Even for trained officers, it’s often a fine line between whether to shoot or not - so the idea of holding a civilian to that standard doesn’t cut it with me.
