Eating disorder is the nice way of saying she was addicted to sticking her fingers down her throat to puke, every time she ate. Once it becomes an addiction, extreme weigh loss via starvation sets in. Many women have died from it.
While she says he "threw her out" there is always the possibility that he realized she was very sick and he did not have the medical facilities to treat her at any of his locations. So he sent her off to get treatment somewhere else.
Not only that, it worked. She is still alive.
