The Senate confirmed yet another of President Trump's picks to a federal circuit court seat Wednesday in a vote that tilts the balance of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to a GOP-appointed majority.
With an 80-15 vote, the Senate confirmed Barbara Lagoa to the seat formerly held by Judge Stanley Marcus, a Clinton appointee who sat on the appeals court that handles cases from Florida, Georgia and Alabama since 1997.
"We have flipped the 2nd Circuit, the 3rd Circuit, and we will flip the 11th circuit," Josh Blackman, a Texas law professor

More winning
Every time I see a headline like this I am disgusted all over again.
If our laws were written to be clear in their purpose and intent the ideology of judges should not matter.
The laws should be plain enough to not be subject to interpretation or bias.
But then, somehow even the very clear and succinct 2A is now being “Interpreted” to allow a plethora of obviously unconstitutional acts!
Such as the NFA-34 and continued existence of the BATFE, along with the “Brady Law” to name just a few clear infringements.
Just because an unconstitutional “Law” is established and accepted by too many members of the public does not make it right or true!
See my tagline.
80-15? What do the RATs know that we don’t ....
Possibly a good question. Could be just a lessor of two evils.
Somebody tell Stacy Abrams she’s screwed. Time to find an honest job, say, with ISIS.
Outstanding.
But let’s remember, Obama appointed 55 Circuit Court judges. Trump still has a ways to go to counter that.
Re: “More winning”
Sure about that?
27 Democrat Senators voted for her.

Its the 9th that needs the most work. Problem is; many of its liberal justices are fairly young as as judges go. So, it will take a Trump second term to make much headway on the 9th....
Cheer up - at least those they tag with conservative “ideology” are more apt to stick with actual constitutional law than the ones they are replacing....if we ignore ideology, the Left will pack the courts and remove all our FReedoms.

I am. Trump is picking judges from the Federalist Society, which is far better than Republicans before him.
As to the level of Democrat opposition to those picks, it seems to vary by whether they see some Republicans having problems with a particular vote. If the RINOs are having some issues, possibly tribal in the sense that maybe the judge once wrote that vagina hats look silly, then the Democrats will all line up against that judge, since they smell blood and even a possible defeat.
If not, then who knows, I suspect that many of them from purple/red states don’t want to have to run with their opponents calling them obstructionist, and with judges, they have a free vote they can use to fight back with.
That's good news.
Also, I now see why she got substantial Democrat support.
She is female, she is Cuban, and she was born and raised in Dade County, which is the largest county in 50-50 swing state Florida.
Thanks for your comment - I feel a little better.
However, when more than 5 Democrats vote for a GOP judge, I get very nervous.
Also, all five of the Democrat Senators who are running for President were not present and did not vote.
I was very curious to see how they would handle the vote - instead, we got a big blank from all five.
Are those 27 demorats in districts that Trump won? There might be the reason.
The judge belongs to the Federalist Society, which Wiki did not mention.
Also, she is female, Cuban, born and raised in Dade County, Florida, which is the largest county in a critical 50-50 swing state.
I'm still not convinced she is reliably Conservative, but I feel less anxiety about her than I did on my first read through.
Me as well.I guess only time will tell.
