Also, there's a picture of Vindman in uniform that shows what looks like ribbons on the right side of Vindman's uniform. I normally expect to see unit citations there, which I thought all had metallic frames around them.

Can somebody identify those items?

I seem to recall that a high ranking military man supposedly committed suicide after having been found to be wearing ribbons he didn't qualify for. I think the guy also had some connection to Ron Brown's death.

His present position is not a military position...And he has no business wearing that uniform.

As to his ourple heart....he was out of commission for a couple of hours.
