Professor Richard Vatz of Towson University in Towson, Maryland, says that despite academic world priding itself on “supporting the marketplace of ideas and academic freedom,” there has been “an increasing and unremitting effort to eliminate conservatives” in areas of higher education. The professor added that when he brought up his concerns with the National Communication Association, “they couldn’t care less.”
“There has been an increasing and unremitting effort to eliminate conservatives and conservative thought in the humanities and social sciences in the American academy,” wrote professor Vatz in his recent Baltimore Sun op-ed, entitled, “Towson professor: Higher ed discriminates against conservatives.”
“Higher education prides itself on two overarching values: supporting the marketplace of ideas and academic freedom,” said Vatz. “Channeling the late civil rights advocate President John F. Kennedy, who said ‘Are we to say to the world — and much more importantly, to each other — that this is the land of the free, except for the Negro?'”
“Today, he would have said of colleges and universities, ‘Are we to say to the world — and much more importantly, to each other — higher education today is for diversity and equity except for conservatives?'” he added.
Professor Vatz, who has taught at Towson University for the past 45 years, said that he is also familiar with universities around the country, as he has been invited to speak at many of them, and has been on the Legislative Assembly at the National Communication Association (NCA), as well as involved with the Eastern Communication Association.
“The anti-conservatism is increasing at most national education venues,” said Vatz.

It’s pretty obvious as stupid as some people with degrees are these days.
Makes having a diploma kind of a hollow thing, except for yourself. You know you worked for it. Nobody else is sure you did.
Look at these judges. Some of them seem to border on illiteracy.
As long as liberals fear the truth, they will continue trying to eliminate the truth-tellers, and conservatives have more truth to tell than almost all liberals.

Another: “Female pilots cannot see the ‘ball’ properly when landing on an aircraft carrier.”
Esquire and others had such incendiary articles at one time.
Worked at universities from 1969-2017.
They once had a discussion on getting rid of a conservative who was qualified for tenure but would be denied it. The conservative was told the inside story: One said “The real problem here is how the did guy get this far so we now have to face this problem? Conservatives are supposed to be weeded out or sabotaged long before they get to this point. Who messed up?”
So young socialists graduate after being brainwashed by socialist professors.
This unfairness has to be fought hard just like eliminating the all Leftist News Media.

The headline is that academia is eliminating conservatives?
Like we didn’t know that... Sheesh.
With a few notable exceptions, American universities are a joke. Young people today should go to a good trade school instead. We can all laugh when university grads try to unclog a toilet, wire an outlet, fix a car, or physically build ANYTHING. The tradesman will earn a good living and provide for his or her family, while the Gender Studies grad will be collecting aluminum cans.

“To be fair,” he added, “there is an undercurrent of guilt or self-awareness among some, if not many, relating to the hypocrisy of ostensible support for supporting the free flow of differing ideas while perpetrating overt discrimination in hiring, promotion, tenure, college campus and convention participation and publishing of those on the right.”
The professor noted that “despite the continuing and increasing bigotry” in the NCA against conservatives, he has “long been a conspicuous advocate of fairness” to those who are not on the left.
“I have had lengthy exchanges with the current president, the immediately former president and the executive director of the NCA concerning their need to rectify the current situation which led to more than a score of their limited number of open conservatives leaving the organization,” said Vatz.
“The NCA couldn’t care less,” he added.
All the more reason to go after collage endowments and tax them at 75% and pass laws preventing any government loans to liberal universities. Banckrupt them like they are bankrupting education and fleecing dumbasses with student loans! Time for specialized universities and trade schools to take over. Also never hire anyone with an Ivy League education! Make those schools like kryptonite to employers.

What a succinct summary of what has gone wrong with the academy. It's an outrage.
I’ve never viewed the Air Force as a strong branch of the military anyway. To me if you it’s all about the Army, Navy, and Marines.
Colleges are dying and nearly dead. The level of education is now at yesterday’s grade ‘D’ level. ‘C’s are now given where ‘F’s used to be given. ‘A’ are now participation trophies, they are provided for turning in material on time, even poor quality material.
There are also no ‘good’ schools anymore. Even MIT has become a running joke and a poster child for millennials.
