Obama Left An Ambassador to Die, But We’re Supposed to be Outraged Over Trump's Yovanovitch Tweet?

On Friday, as former Ambassador Maria Yovanovitch was testifying, President Trump made a series of tweets criticizing her performance as ambassador, which got Democrats so triggered, his tweets were read soon after they were made, and the narrative presented was that the tweet was witness intimidation.

"Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad," Trump tweeted. "She started off in Somalia, how did that go? Then fast forward to Ukraine, where the new Ukrainian President spoke unfavorably about her in my second phone call with him. It is a U.S. President’s absolute right to appoint ambassadors."

"They call it 'serving at the pleasure of the President,'" Trump continued. "The U.S. now has a very strong and powerful foreign policy, much different than proceeding administrations. It is called, quite simply, America First!" Trump also noted that he's done far more for Ukraine than his predecessor than Obama.

....They call it “serving at the pleasure of the President.” The U.S. now has a very strong and powerful foreign policy, much different than proceeding administrations. It is called, quite simply, America First! With all of that, however, I have done FAR more for Ukraine than O.

This triggered Adam Schiff. "What we saw today is it wasn't enough that Ambassador Yovanovitch was smeared. It wasn't enough she was attacked. It wasn't enough that she was recalled for no reason, at least no good reason. But we saw today witness intimidation in real-time by the president."

It's been almost seven years since Barack Obama left one of his ambassadors to die in a terrorist attack on a U.S. consulate, and the same people who defended the Obama administration endlessly over that, are feigning outrage over Trump's tweet expressing his opinion.

Democrats have been crying "impeach!" over everything for years, and now every time Trump expresses an opinion, we're hearing "intimidation." The same party that defended the Obama administration's failure to protect our consulate in Libya from an attack that claimed four American lives, including that of a U.S. ambassador, are now trying to tell us that we should be outraged over a harmless tweet—a tweet that, regardless of what one thinks of the content, was written after Yovanovitch started testifying

“Some have argued, that a president has the ability to nominate or remove any ambassador he wants, that they serve at the pleasure of the president. And that is true,” Schiff, D-Calif., said. “The question before us is not whether Donald Trump could recall an American ambassador with a stellar reputation for fighting corruption in Ukraine, but why would he want to?”

If they serve at the pleasure of the president, he doesn’t have to give a reason.

It wasn’t just the Ambassador, we lost more than that. I’ll pull the trigger on the Secretary of State of the time and her boss if offered firing squad position or better pull the trap door lever.

Telling the truth offends Democrats. Orange Man offends people’s feelings - an impeachable offense.

We have morons running this country. Welcome to Dumb and Dumberer 2019.

I was just making a post on a Daily Mail article about the military pardons the President made today. Somebody mentioned Obama leaving 4 Americans to die in Benghazi, and I replied that as of this date, we still don't know where Obama was that night. And I posted this quote of the Congressional transcript of Leon Panetta's testimony:

"Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta testified to Congress in early February 2013 regarding his communications with the President:

'Senate Armed Services Committee, Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R.-N.H.) asked Defense Secretary Panetta: Did you have any further communications with him [Obama] that night?

No, said Panetta.

Did you have any other further communications? Did he ever call you that night to say how are things going, whats going on, wheres the consulate? asked Ayotte.

No, said Panetta. But we were aware as we were getting information about what was taking place there, particularly when we got information that the ambassador, his life had been lost, we were aware that that information went to the White House.

Did you communicate with anyone else at the White House that night? asked Ayotte.

No, said Panetta.

No one else called you to say: How are things going? asked Ayotte. No, said Panetta.'"

“We’re to be outraged that Trump tweeted?”

Yes, supposed to. Such is demanded of supplicants.

Convert, submit or die.

True. At least she didn’t add “what difference does it make now”. What I think, is better left unthought and I have to control it. What irritates me most is we had assets that could have helped and they were told to stand down.

So where was Obama that night? How come there is no curiosity about this by our esteemed journalists? Can you imagine if Trump had been President?

The Dem’s outrage is sheer hyperbole. President was correct to take Yovanovitch out of her position when he tweeted:

“Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad. She started off in Somalia, how did that go? Then fast forward to Ukraine, where the new Ukrainian President spoke unfavorably about her in my second phone call with him. It is a U.S. President’s absolute right to appoint ambassadors.”

Not much was said during the hearings that elaborated on Ukraine President Zelenskyy’s concerns about Yovanovitch’s actions concerning him.

I missed the afternoon Republican questioning session, but I hope someone asked the former ambassador how she *felt* when Ambassador Stevens was left to die.
