The only way I see this ending peacefully is a complete divorce of the Northeast states and the west coast states away from the rest.
Other than that, it will require a general killing to solve the matter.

Yep, I say give the Northeast to Canada, and California to Mexico, and give the Democrats in the rest of the country 90 days to get their affairs in order and move to one or the other.
