"It is time for us to realize that we're too great a nation to limit
ourselves to small dreams. We're not, as some would have us believe,
doomed to an inevitable decline.
I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do.
I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing.
So, with all the creative energy at our command,
let us begin an era of national renewal.
Let us renew our determination, our courage, and our strength.
And let us renew our faith and our hope. We have every right to dream heroic dreams.
Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes,
they just don't know where to look."Ronald Reagan

We will always be prepared, so we will always be free."Ronald Reagan
"If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to.
This is the last stand on Earth."Ronald Reagan
Next to Melania, Nancy R. was the most stylin’ FLOTUS. Even more than Jackie.
in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures -
and that is the basis of all human morality."
Winston Churchill
"America is governed by Americans. We reject the ideology of globalism, and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism." Donald Trump

They are the three most elegant of our First Ladies, no doubt about it. :)
"I don't know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying,
"We must broaden the base of our party"
-when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.
It was a feeling that there was not a sufficient difference now between the parties that kept a majority of the voters away from the polls. When have we ever advocated a closed-door policy? Who has ever been barred from participating?
Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?"Ronald Reagan

drop by and say hi!
visitors welcome!
I always liked her hair style, too.
When we lived in Simi Valley, sometimes I’d walk up the hill to the Reagan Library and look at the display of the gorgeous dresses she wore. Teensie-tiny. Itsy-bitsy.
Where Did The Country Go Wrong?
He was getting old and paunchy
And his hair was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion,
Telling stories of the past.
Of a war that he once fought in
And the deeds that he had done,
In his exploits with his buddies;
They were heroes, every one.
And ‘tho sometimes to his neighbours
His tales became a joke,
All his buddies listened quietly
For they knew whereof he spoke.
But we’ll hear his tales no longer,
For ol’ Joe has passed away,
And the world’s a little poorer
For a Veteran died today.
He won’t be mourned by many,
Just his children and his wife.
For he lived an ordinary,
Very quiet sort of life.
He held a job and raised a family,
Going quietly on his way;
And the world won’t note his passing,
‘Tho a Veteran died today.
When politicians leave this earth,
Their bodies lie in state,
While thousands note their passing,
And proclaim that they were great.
Papers tell of their life stories
From the time that they were young,
But the passing of a Veteran
Goes unnoticed, and unsung.
Is the greatest contribution
To the welfare of our land,
Some jerk who breaks his promise
And cons his fellow man?
Or the ordinary fellow
Who in times of war and strife,
Goes off to serve his country
And offers up his life?
The politician’s stipend
And the style in which he lives,
Are often disproportionate,
To the service that he gives.
While the ordinary Veteran,
Who offered up his all,
Is paid off with a medal
And perhaps a pension, small.
It is not the politicians
With their compromise and ploys,
Who won for us the freedom
That our country now enjoys.
Should you find yourself in danger,
With your enemies at hand,
Would you really want some cop-out,
With his ever-waffling stand?
Or would you want a Veteran
His home, his country, his kin,
Just a common Veteran,
Who would fight until the end.
He was just a common Veteran,
And his ranks are growing thin,
But his presence should remind
us We may need his likes again.
For when countries are in conflict,
We find the Veteran’s part,
Is to clean up all the troubles
That the politicians start.
If we cannot do him honour
While he’s here to hear the praise,
Then at least let’s give him homage
At the ending of his days.
Perhaps just a simple headline
In the paper that might say:
“OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING,
A VETERAN DIED TODAY.”
PLEASE, If you are proud of our Vets, then pass this on.
Thank you very much, MEG33!!
