Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway, senior editor at The Federalist and a highly regarded independent journalist, created a stir during a panel discussion on FNC's Sunday morning program Media Buzz, hosted by Howie Kurtz. At 11:19 A.M. E.T., as the program was being broadcast from Washington, D.C. without a delay, the topic of the "whistleblower," who set the ball rolling on the move to impeach the president because of the July 25 Trump-Zelensky phone call, came up.
Mollie Hemingway: The New York Times did all but reveal his name in September and (unintelligble) all the details. . .
Howie Kurtz: The New York Times was the first, to basically half out the whistleblower by saying he's a CIA officer who had been assigned to the White House.
Hemingway: And Real Clear Investigations has identified a man named Eric Ciaramella as the whistleblower. So it's already out there. We could be talking about this reporting, or could be talking about whether it's accurate or not. So I feel a little bit confused about why we're pretending that it hasn't already been (unintelligible).
Kurtz: I don't know that that's the person —
Philippe Reines (political advisor to Hillary Clinton and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Strategic Communications when Hillary had the top job at State): That's the first time that the name has been mentioned on Fox News!
Kurtz: I just want to clarify. I don't know whether this is the person or not, and I don't want to speculate about that.
Understandably, video clips of this exchange are not easy to find. At press time early Monday morning, two 45-second clips were still available at YouTube — here and here — but probably not for long. The Federalist Twitter account tweeted about Hemingway's outing the whistleblower with the video clip Sunday

The day has finally arrived when our online media monopolies are blatantly censoring the news that Americans can see. Chrissy Clark writes at The Federalist:
Facebook and YouTube are removing all content from their platforms that mentions the anti-Trump whistleblower's name, whom news outlets including RealClearInvestigations have publicly identified as CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella. No law bans media outlets or any person but the intelligence community inspector general from making the whistleblower's name public.
A Facebook spokesperson said the platform will remove "any and all mention of the potential whistleblower's name.
Put his name on banners and have planes tow them around the sky in 25 cities.
So, simply stating the fact that another person / group named the Whistleblower is a problem?
Did she also show a drawing of Mohammad?
Eric Ciaramella is the whistleblower and Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself.
Depends on whether Fox News loves America more than their own perceived political fortunes.
Id like to slap that smirk right off of Reiness gob.
MS. HEMMINGWAY HAS A LOT OF CLASS. WHISTLEBLOWER’S NAME HAS BEEN ALL OVER THE INTERNET FOR 2 WEEKS NOW. WHAT THE BIG DEAL????????????????
You can buy ‘Epstein didn’t kill himself’ T-shirts all over the place. I wondered if Amazon was selling them, too:
by saying he’s a CIA officer
One insane thing that America needs to know is: If you went through the parking lot of CIA, DIA, NSA, GeoSpatial Intel, State Dept(surprise) and any other federal intel entity, you’ll find a lot more Sanders, Clinton, Soetero, Warren, Harris, Biden, Stein bumper stickers than you will American Flags, NRA, Oath Keepers, military bumper stickers....a lot more... in case I haven’t emphasized it enough....I mean A LOT MORE.
Yes, there are plenty of folks in all those agencies that bleed Red, White and Blue. But for years, those types of folks have been shunned for the pajama boy, liberal hipster, wannabe socialist, college kid, ie Ciaramella.
And yes, there are some legit pipe hitters in those agencies as well. But they are more like the caged animals that are only allowed out when the dirty work needs to be done. They’re the ones that eat in the barn while their masters are at the dining room table grabbing a salad fork.
And that is pretty frightening.
..I don’t get it... several legal experts have stated that this guy does NOT meet the criteria for a true whistleblower and that the protections that are in place for such do not apply to him...and his name has been out in the public domain for a number of days now... maybe weeks... something does not pass the smell test...
Will Mollie Hemingway still have a job at Fox News after naming the whistleblower on live TV Sunday?
A: Yes
1. Eric Ciaramella’s name appears on unredacted information that is part of the “impeachment” sham.
2. Eric Ciaramella’s name is all over the internet. Why are we pretending that it is a secret?
3. My understanding is that a whistleblower’s employment is protected (provided that he makes a good faith effort to report an issue) ... not his identity.
4. Eric Ciaramella did not make a good faith effort to make a whistleblower report. He went to Adam Shift’s staff first.
5. There is a strong argument that he does not qualify as a whistleblower at all, based on his position as a source. He seems to be getting legal protection because he expressed an opinion rather than something that he witnessed directly.
I was watching it. If anyone hasnt seen it I recommend you go look at it. The lead up was this awkward dance. When Hemingway stated his name youd think shed said Voldemort our loud. Truly bizarre
Since I cut cable didn’t see it. She could have said: “The alleged whistle blower with the initials ‘E’ric ‘C’iaramella.....”. She’ll be just fine.
He’s not a whistle blower. He doesn’t fit the definition. He’s a disgruntled employee who should have been fired.
You are watching the power of the CIA over the news. Eric Ciaramella is the new C word. These networks are afraid of losing their CIA leak privilege.
Ive passed his name around to my contacts and have urged them to do the same which I know they will
Of course not! Now, if they were talking about someone that leaked juicy info on Obummer or Hitlery, the media would be all over that...
Reines drew attention to the name mentioning that it was the first time it had been spoken on Fox. In essence, Reines confirmed that Ciaramella was the whistleblower. Howie Kurtz’ response was hilarious. He looked like someone in a hostage tape as he tried to distance himself and Fox from the name.
