It had a huge shift caused by immigrants. Northeast VA now has a population that nullifies the strong conservatives in the rest of the state. Toss in some other leftist enclaves like Charlottesville and you flip the state.
This is what happened and it is going to happen elsewhere.
Was it a conscious plan? Not at first. But the blueing of NE VA once noticed was certainly aided and abetted by policies from DC.

California was the first, and just look at it now.

Texas WILL be next. According to the Texas Education Commission, Texas Public Schools are comprised of only 28% white students K-12. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out those demographics and what they will do to an electorate that is already less than 10 points from flipping. And it won’t take long.

Everyone keeps sitting on their ass voting for it.

So what do you want me to say?

If I was a socialist in 2020, I’d be laughing and crapping on everyone too. :)

And now Democrats have statewide control of vote manipulation and the vote count in Virginia and don’t have to rely on the manufacture of votes in the Democrat cities to overwhelm any Republican vote from the rest of the state..

“DJT’s fatal mistake was not making Larry Arnn Secretary of Education-— and direct him to remake all public schools.”

He should have made ‘Larry the cable guy’ the Sec of Education, and Ted Nugent the ambassador to the UN!

Texas governors have been inviting people to come here. Nuts. There is no more south. There will be no more Texas. Migration has always been a slayer on peoples.

And the GOP is doing nothing to stop it.

Big question is why are they doing nothing?

Got to a few towns/cities, north of Atlanta, and you’ll see the same thing.

Because that’s how they make their money and will never have to live with the consequences of their decisions.

Blaming it on immigration isn’t a cop-out. If the people of Virginia wanted both those guys out, they would have been gone. The numbers are the numbers. The majority of people in Virginia don’t care what Northam and Fairfax did. And that is solely because the state is now filled with people that don’t care. And the reason the state is filled with those people is because of immigration.

When I say immigration, I’m not only talking about all the foreigner’s. We also have to include all the Leftists/Liberals/Progressives/Socialists that immigrated to that area, to work for or in connection with the federal government. Those folks don’t care about Northam, Fairfax or anyone else that protects their cushy government job or government contract.

We need a total immigration moratorium now for at least 10 years - no more H1Bs, refugees, etc

Agreed, but Mike Lee et al. and Durbin et al. are pushing for more H-1B Visas as are the tech titans....

Yep. And yet I’ve had debates on here with FReepers with their heads in the sand that insist Texas won’t turn blue. It will and it will be less than 20 years...probably less than 12-15.

WHat happens when all the white people flee to another country and it’s all 3rd world immigrants and socialist politicians. The left, repeat, the left destroys every place they take over.

Don't worry, leftism is a self-correcting problem. The left's biggest enemy is themselves. Some of the best places to retire to in the world are recovering from leftist destruction. A trait of many communist countries is they are surprisingly conservative and are now nice places to retire to, for example still communist Vietnam. In hindsight the Vietnam war was a waste of both American lives and money. Leftists always destroy themselves when left to their own devices.

Legal immigrants to America still tend to be above average. For example most Americans have a net positive view of Chinese immigrants. However, China itself if full of "yellow trash". We get some of that, but the overall American impression of Chinese people is that they are good looking, hard working, and smart. That's not the average in China at all.

That’s why affluent white nitwits are just as likely to vote for Democrats

Their wealth insulates them from the consequences of all the disastrous policies they support. It’s no different than when folks make fun of and talk bad about the Kushner’s. I don’t like them being there, any more than anyone else, but that’s his daughter and he trust’s her.

But when she runs her mouth about something like illegals, her only interaction with them is the housekeeper or the groundskeeper. Who are pleasant and dutifully nod. Or when she goes and reads to kids in a school for a photo op and all the kids adore her. She isn’t living in a neighborhood that has been taken over and destroyed by illegals.

Have the government make it a law that every private/prep school in the northern Virginia & DC area have to set aside 30% of each class for illegal alien kids and that their costs will be covered by the other 70% and we’ll quickly see how kind, caring and compassionate they are.

Folks don’t want to be farmers anymore, that’s why. Why be a farmer when you can spend your life writing code and making money. Not having to worry about drought or flood.

Personally, I’d much rather be the farmer or rancher, but kids today don’t want any part of that stuff.

Grandparents/parents die, they owned and ran the farm, kids went to college and became lawyers, or whatever. They sell the land, buy a bigger house and that’s it.

However, I wonder how many regret it, later in life. Especially those that grew up on one, doing the chores and working the land.

Rick Perry...touted as a hero by so many, should be an effin’ outcast. While he’s probably no different than any one else, he traveled the world and country to get big business to move to Texas. Offered them all sorts of tax breaks and incentives, courtesy of the Texas taxpayer. Lots of jobs for my Texas family. Only problem, when they came they brought all their liberal workers with them.

He had his buddies popping subdivisions, new schools, new parks and, oh yeah, NO state income tax. Don’t worry about your property taxes though, which tend to be a little high. But when you’re paying $10k a year in NY, a $3500/yr property tax bill sounds nice. And when you can move from a 3/2 ranch on a .10 of an acre to a 4/3 colonial on 1 or 2 acres, you can’t pack the moving van fast enough.

Issue is, none of these folks will “assimilate” into the Texas way of life. They’ll just change where they move to. IE....Austin or DFW. Gone forever.’’

Toss in everything he did for illegals and like giving them in-state tuition and it’s a recipe for the disaster we see unfolding.

This will lead to civil war.
I see very little chance of avoiding it.
