I tend to think that Trump has a “Lincoln Problem” in that when Abraham Lincoln was president it was said that every cabinet member was convinced that HE would make a better president than Mr. Lincoln. Petty jealousy, really. Tillerson & Gen. Kelley spent a lot of time at the upper levels of government. It’s not surprising that a Nikki Haley would pick up on that vibe. Is it true? Does she have it accurate? Or is she exaggerating to help her to the next level in politics. I don’t know. She doesn’t have enough of a track record on the national stage. But I will be watching her... skeptically.
What does she talk about with Ben?
A lot.
Wasn’t she one of the first pols to endorse Romney for President in 2012? In 2016, I remember her endorsing the most liberal candidate, and when they would drop out, she’d move on to the next most liberal candidate. IMO, she is a wholly-owned politician, just like Rotten Rubio and so many others.
Add Gen Mattis
It was a Governors’ job to restore order, as quickly was possible. She did the only thing that would cabash that building inferno. Many out-of-towners paid to protest would not hesitate to lay waste to someone else’s city, some one else’s infrastructure. They don’t have to live there after all the smoke has been cleared. Something similar happened in Baltimore too.
I don't believe they are clueless...They just have a different agenda than Trump...
The cost of liberty.
I will never vote for ineligible candidates.
The children of foreign nationals are themselves foreign nationals, even if we foolishly give them citizenship.
They are not natural born citizens.
I remember that she apologized once it was too late for what she thought to matter and I figure doing something she knew went against Trump's agenda and then apologizing is what got her removed from her UN job. It's an old approach attributed to Grace Hopper, It's easier to apologize than to get permission".
I doubt that works well with Trump and don't think it would work twice if it even worked the first time.
She isn’t eligible to run for president. If she, by miracle, did win, the Democrats would raise this issues and it would mean lengthy litigation, and she would likely lose.
That is what the Bolshies say.
I have heard of the late Grace Hopper.
She was a computer scientist and a Rear Admiral for the Navy.
The only thing that bothers me about this, is I received emails from then General John Kelly, and he was the most unapologetically conservative general given the tenor of his comments I didnt know him personally, but this seems out of character.
The ineligible Rotten Rubio is who she first endorsed in 2016.
Like all elected GOP in SC, she’s a Bush League Republican.
Haley making the remark will sell books whether she’s blowing smoke or Kelly really said something she interpreted in the way she presents it.
Re: quote from Cicero
My favorite novel ever was Taylor Caldwell’s “Pillar of Iron”. It was the story of Cicero trying to save the Roman Republic. One section made me cry as I realized that President Reagan seemed to be fighting a lost cause.
she held her tongue all this time until she needed something to tease her book with?
I’ll pass.
I understand, but disagree. I strongly believe that politics and elected office is the last option for narcissists who have mediocre talents but huge egos. Look at the reality. AOC. Sheila Jackson Lee. John Kerry. Hillary Clinton. Tlaib. Omar. Nadler. Schiff. etc. etc. These are not the people whose ideas and creativity are going to move humanity forward. These are the people who have nothing else in life to occupy them, and nothing else they are actually good at, so they do the only thing left to them that gives them the bs stature that they need and would die for. Would you hire Hillary Clinton to be your attorney? How about Kerry? What you hire AOC to be an economist for your company?
I deeply respect your opinion, but I've seen too much of life to have any respect for pitiful people who need to think they are better than others.
What = Would
