Today, Im a super proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, but the journey to get here wasnt easy. I was outed at school by someone Id trusted as a friend before I was ready to tell my own story. It was a really vulnerable time for me, and I felt ashamed to be myself even in the fairly progressive area where I live. I spent a lot of time with these feelings, thinking really deeply about why I had so much fear about coming out. I felt different and marginalized, whereas before, Id never felt anything but normal. It was a big jolt, and it didnt feel good.
But its no wonder that in a world where almost all books and movies center around straight characterseither featuring no LGBTQ+ characters at all or sometimes shoving them to the edges as stereotyped sidekicksthat being queer could make someone feel like they dont deserve the spotlight. Lack of representation can make people feel invisible, or like they should be. Ive been there, and its a real problem with serious consequences.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is all about stepping up and bravely filling a need in your communityand my community desperately needed better representation. So even though storytelling was outside my comfort zone (Im a science and tech girl to my core!), I had to put myself out there and do what I could to make a difference. That meant founding and becoming the editor of Glitterary, a digital literary magazine thats both for and by LGBTQ+ youth.
The stories collected and featured in Glitterary Magazine span all genresscience fiction.....
Beyond that, I make sure the queer people in our stories dont just look or act one specific way. Just like there are five-plus letters in LGBTQ+...

There agenda is to go after and infiltrate foundations representing America and what it stood for and destroy it from within while smiling at you when you buy their crap
So if heterosexuals are straight, that means homosexuals are crooked
TheyThem Scouts of America.
Right, shame is felt when you sin. That is a good thing. When that feeling goes away you shoild worry.
Apparently it hasn't seen the Hugo compilations from the last few years. I got through three stories before the slapjack of sinfulness wore me down. Returning it to the library where other decent people might read it felt wrong in and of itself and I resented being an involuntary part of that.
It was enough to make me want to punch a transvestite.
I was a Brownie and a Cadet growing up back in 60’s and 70’s. I refuse to buy GS cookies due to the agenda of GS program today. I know at our church they have a Christian based group that is for girls and boys.
I have a niece who was adopted by my Uber-Left sister and her husband. This niece was a pretty, shy young woman when she was about to enter high school. The summer before, she had attended a week long Sierra Service project sponsored by her church. She had also attended a week long Girl Scouting sleep away project. At the end of that summer, she cut her hair off and unfriended me on Facebook. I asked my sister why and she just said her daughter wanted more privacy. Well, she became more and more butch, joining the Gay-Straight Alliance at her high school. She is now in her third year at college and is openly a lesbian with a girlfriend.
At one of those weeks away from home, she was either molested by an adult woman or was involved with another young woman in a relationship. Whichever it was, it was apparent it had changed her; she now belonged to a special group. And as soon as she started behaving like a lesbian, my sister, sister-in-law, etc., said we must support her as she was born that way. No, she was a shy, very pretty girl with shoulder length hair and wearing dresses before she was molested in the summer before she started high school. Mores the pity.
Yes. Only the hair should be black. Rachel Maddow was very pretty. Now she is just scary. My nieces transition has also taken away her beauty.
Girl Sodomite, not Girl Scout.
Oh, poop! I like Girl Scout Cookies. Sorry they’ve gone so Satanic.
I used to love Girl Scouts, back when they only admitted girls.
On LifeSiteNews recently, they said the percentage of homosexuals was 5%, about twice what it was in the CDC survey of homosexuals in 2014 (I think it was that year).
BINGO!!
Why is Guyana shown as being western, while Argentina and Uruguay (western counties culturally/ethnically) are not?
HEY! You’re gonna scare the chilruns!!
Scared me!
Dunno. Just swiped the first map I could find with a decent-enough color contrast.
If you can find a better one, post it to me and I’ll make a second one. Time is running out for Western Civ - rapidly.
Tragic. Makes me so mad that these people are victimized at a young age. Same thing with my cousin, a male. No idea what happened but something happened at a young age...a karate instructor perhaps, I’ll never know.
