I am not sure that I want most of our “allies” to be our allies.
I know what they expect us to do for them. They expect us to to spend massive amounts of our treasury, and be prepared to give vast numbers of our young men’s lives in defense of them.
What I don’t understand is what they will do for us, that is positive from our perspective, in return. Because from what I see, they actually are willing to spend almost nothing of their treasury and few if any of their own young men’s lives in their own defense.
Therefore, why should we participate in such a one-sided relationship.
