New battleground state polls sent tremors through Democratic circles Monday, underlining that President Trump has a fighting chance of reelection despite his mediocre national standing.
The polls, from The New York Times and Siena College, tested the three leading Democratic 2020 candidates — former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) — against Trump in the six states that Trump carried by the narrowest margins in 2016.
Those states are Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin
The polls showed Warren defeating Trump only in Arizona, Sanders doing so in three of the states and Biden doing so in four. All of the Democrats lost to Trump in North Carolina, which President Obama carried narrowly in 2008.
Even in Biden’s case the results were hardly conclusive. His edge was 5 points in Arizona and smaller everywhere else: 3 points in both Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and just 2 points in Florida.
The differences between the Democratic candidates were also not large enough to come to confident judgments as to their real strengths — often, all three were bunched together within the polling margin of error in each state.
But the more troublesome aspect for many Democrats was Trump’s showing.
“Any Democrat who looks at that data should be concerned,” said Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf. “The blue-collar rift in this country hasn’t been healed in any way and Trump still commands tremendous loyalty” among his supporters.

Pollsters can’t count the hidden Trump vote... people who support Trump but aren’t ready to take the heat if someone leaks that information.

The pollsters have NOT reformed their 2016 methods at all, given their debacle after the election.
I think the saying goes that Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results.
Somebody tell me what lessons the pollsters learned from 2016 and how have the latest polling numbers reflected this?

They're just pushing the narrative, as always.
The national polls are pure propaganda. Heavily weighted Dem.
People that are concerned for the country, and making their own way, love Trump.
Yep. Imagine if Trump supporters felt safe in displaying their Trump support (hats, tee shirts, yard signs, bumper stickers, social media, etc.)...

Emphasis on “fighting”.
The more our side fights, the less that shall be left to chance.
Polls are designed to tell us WHAT to believe and jump on the bandwagon.
In the privacy of the voting booth, I think many will consider all the great economic numbers, the incessant lies of the media vice what they see with their own eyes, and the total insanity of any of the democrat candidates, and pull the Trump lever.
Unless you're a died-in-the-wool socialist, journalist, college professor, feminist, abortion performer, Hollywood Leftist, etc., etc., that is.
Thank God the majority of this country is NOT.
I refuse to accept the polls anymore. Especially if they say something I like!
If anything, Trump’s supporters are even more loyal.
In ARIZONA? It must be that only Demonrats are answering the phone in AZ.
Conservatives need to hold our fire on Warren and Sanders. We want one of those two unelectable-in-a-general-election candidates to get the nomination. Attack Biden. Even though he’s a mess, he is non-threatening to moderates. Also, attack Buttiplug and Yang, two more semi-dangerous in a general election candidates. But, hold fire on Warren/Sanders until after they get the nomination.
What a wonderful world that would be... Now we can't even put Trump bumper stickers on our cars for fear of being keyed or run off the road.
Is this British for Trump in a landslide?
