A group of India’s H-1B contract workers surrounded Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) to demand he support Sen. Mike Lee’s (R-UT) S.386 bill, which gives citizenship to more Indian graduates if they take jobs from Americans.

Dont ya know, there’s NO talented workforce in the US already so we NEED them.
No guys who are 50 and can still give great input for another 20 years.
No guys in their 30s who are keeping current but lose out to 1/2 the pay Indians.

Or, guys who get out of college with a STEM degree, possibly with debts, who don’t think they should live four to a room and work 75 hours a week. They have their path to experience blocked by H1B’s.
Both parties selling out Americans for a buck It is outrageous and in better times DC would be burning.
The Muslims don't have the 330 million gods that Hinduism has. Of course, there ARE Muslims and Christians. in India.
North India seems to have a ton of Muslims and many Sikhs. The latter are the country's police and military since they are meat eaters. The Hindus don't eat meat and thus SUCK at being police or soldiers because that requires SOME musculature. You'll never see an Indian Hindu at the Olympics...but then who would want to.
The south of India was evangelized by St. Thomas, the Doubter. He traveled ALL the way to India and southern India is CATHOLIC. Many male babies are STILL named THOMAS in honor of that Apostle.
These mf’ers get cheap educations then come here to undercut our workforce. If this doesn’t piss you off then you are not an American.

And if it was overtime pay, I’m sure quite a few would love to work 60 or so hours a week.
I LOVED paid overtime in my mid 20s to mid 30s. Then I got tired of it :)
We (myself included) hammer the younger generation but then we hand jobs they need to foreigners for half the price.

There are very few Senators that side with the citizens.
We MUST change that.
One of my kids, very talented technically, worked for a couple of years at an H1B shop. It was tough... because the bosses were either Chinese or Indian, and would promote their compatriots over an American of equal or greater skill. But, he had to grind through it to get the first couple of years experience, and then better jobs began to open up.
The H1B people had advanced degrees, but according to him, were only moderately talented. However, they would gang up on rooming and could be worked like dogs, because if they lost the job, they had to leave the country. But, if they kept the job for a certain number of years (not sure if it was two or four... someone might know), they could get the coveted green card, and be on equal footing with American citizens.
ANother wrinkle was that the program was set up so the minimum wage for someone of those qualifications was decent... in 1989... but hadn’t been raised for many years. So, you had these foreign workers in indentured servitude blocking your entry into the market.
I didn’t realize how bad it was until my boy told me the details. In my business we had a couple of H1B workers, but only because they happened to be the best qualified people that walked in for interviews at the time we were hiring. It wasn’t a shop full of them, being abused, and thereby abusing our homegrown new STEM talent. Very discouraging... makes them want to be bankers or managers.
Dick Turban hates America.
He called our deployed troops Nazis and babykillers or something, and resented being called out for it.
On vacation one year, wife and I met a family from Iowa. I asked who votes for him? They rolled their eyes & said Des Moines; rest of the state can’t stand him & his smarmy conceit.
Oh, one more thing. NOne of those long hours was overtime. They were “salaried professionals.” So was my son. But the long hours were required anyway.

I worked in graphics. I am in a different field now.
I worked in the graphics dept of an investment bank.
Thank God we weren’t considered that skilled or there would have been no overtime lol!!
It was Manhattan so it paid well.
But of course there’s not a future like a programmer has.
BTW, the india graphics dept was SO BAD that it closed down after THREE YEARS.
Their work was AWFUL, BEYOND AWFUL.
I imagine the programming was no better.
It is TERRIBLE that they take jobs from STEM kids and that Mike Lee, a republican, was pushing for so many more!!

He did have a hard time for a bit. He’s a bit anti-social in the grumpy sense. Not a total desk nerd—he played hockey. Anyway, he was in a Ph.D. program in physical chemistry, but his professor died. He didn’t get along at all with the guy who took over the lab (A Chinese guy, in the worst sense, and I often like Chinese), so he had to master out, and then he fell into an H1B pit in the oilpatch while oil was dropping from $100/bbl to $27. But he’s doing great now. Deep science background and he was always good with computers.
Durbin is a two-faced jackass.
I have no use for Durbin, but he should not have to put up with these Dalits.
